I cannot access my home banking account. What should I do?

You may need to reset your Home Banking account. There are two ways to do this: (i) Click on the “Forgot Password?” on; or (ii) Call us at 808.973.4311 (or toll-free at 1.866.351.4311 or come in to any of our full-service branch offices and an HLEFCU representative will assist you.

My debit card was denied. What should I do?

Your debit card may have been denied due to a number of reasons, including insufficient funds, the card being expired, or suspected fraudulent activity being reported on your account. Please call HLEFCU at 808.973.4311 (or toll-free at 1.866.351.4311) to speak to a representative. We will review the status of your account and help to get the problem fixed as soon as possible.

Why can’t I see my entire account number on my home banking dashboard?

We take great precaution to protect members’ sensitive information to the best of our ability. Your account number, Social Security Number, or other sensitive information can be used to steal your identity and gain access to your account funds. By blocking out— or truncating—the account numbers on Home Banking we are decreasing the opportunities for unauthorized access to your sensitive information.

How do I schedule online bill payments through home banking?

First, log onto your Home Banking account. Click the "Services" tab and select "Pay Your Bills."

To add a merchant to your list, click the “Pay Someone New” link, then select one of the merchants on the left, or enter the merchant manually on the right.  If you manually add a merchant, you will need the merchant’s name, address, telephone number, and your account number with the merchant to complete this set-up.

To schedule a payment to an existing merchant account, enter the amount you wish to pay in the "$Amounts" field next to the merchant(s) you'd like to pay.  When finished, click "Confirm all payments" to proceed.  Once you've verified all payment information, click the "Confirm" button. You will receive a payment confirmation. Keep the confirmation information for your records.

Below the payment "Delivery By" field, there is an option to rush your payment.  Please be advised that rush payments are subject to additional fees.  Please consult your Fee Schedule for further detail, or call us at 973.4311

Where can I get copies of cancelled checks?

You may retrieve check images through home banking or call HLEFCU and a representative will assist you. Please refer to your Fee Schedule for any fees that may apply.

What is the difference between a Traditional IRA and a Roth IRA?

Traditional IRAs and Roth IRAs each offer different advantages in planning for your retirement. profiles each as follows:

Traditional IRA Profile

  • Tax deductible contributions (depending on income level)
  • Withdraws [sic] begin at age 59 1/2 and are mandatory by 70 1/2.
  • Taxes are paid on earnings when withdrawn from the IRA
  • Funds can be used to purchase a variety of investments (stocks, bonds, certificates of deposit, etc.)
  • Available to everyone; no income restrictions
  • All funds withdrawn (including principal contributions) before 59 1/2 are subject to a 10% penalty (subject to exception).

Roth IRA Profile

  • Contributions are not tax deductible
  • No Mandatory Distribution Age
  • All earnings and principal are 100% tax free if rules and regulations are followed
  • Funds can be used to purchase a variety of investments (stocks, bonds, certificates of deposits, etc.)
  • Available only to single-filers making up to $95,000 or married couples making a combined maximum of $150,000 annually.
  • Principal contributions can be withdrawn any time without penalty (subject to some minimal conditions).

How do I view my credit card transactions?

To view your credit card transactions, balances, or to make a payment, simply login to Home Banking, click on the "Accounts" tab, and select "credit card." You may also call HLEFCU at 808.973.4311 (or toll-free at 1.866.351.4311) and a representative can review recent transactions with you.

Does HLEFCU offer notary services?

Yes. Notarial services are available at each full-service branch during business hours of operation. Please call us at 808.973.4311 (or toll-free at 1.866.351.4311) to ensure a notary is available before coming in. There is no cost for members; however, non-members will be charged a per-document fee. Please refer to HLEFCU’s Fee Schedule for details.

I suspect fraudulent activity on my account(s). Who do I call?

You should call HLEFCU immediately. If you are not calling during business hours, call 1.855.584.2960 for credit cards, and 1.888.918.7711 for debit cards.
